Next up for these fantastic music events is The Samphires - 20th May - Burnham Sutton-cum Ulph - 5pm
First up, we have the celebration of the incredible history of music with The Samphires, a talented group of musicians who specialise in close vocal harmony. On May 20th, join us for a night of song and celebration as we honour 80 years of amazing music, as well as the reign of King Charles 111!
This is a must-attend event for anyone who loves good music and appreciates the power of great vocals. The Samphires have a reputation for delivering top-notch performances that leave audiences in awe and this event promises to be no different. The evening will proceed with cake and bubbly from 4pm at All Saints Church, Burnham Sutton cum Ulph, with parking available. You'll find yourself singing along and tapping your feet to the rhythm in no time.
Next up is the Victoria String Quartet, Leon Bosch (double bass) & Peter Hewitt (piano) - on 27th May - Burnham Overy Staithe Village Hall - 7:30pm
This promises to be a truly special evening of music that is not to be missed. The Victoria String Quartet is one of the most sought-after and respected chamber ensembles in the world, with a reputation for delivering passionate and emotionally charged performances. Add to this the dynamic and captivating performances of Leon Bosch on double bass and Peter Hewitt on piano, and you have a concert that is sure to leave you spellbound.
The concert will take place at Burnham Overy Staithe Village Hall, with parking available. There's no better place to enjoy an evening of classical music than in this beautiful corner of our county, where nature, music and culture come together to create a truly magical experience.
As for the programme, the evening will showcase a diverse range of classical music, from the timeless beauty of Beethoven Piano Concerto no 1 in C major op 15 (arr Lachner), with Rossini Duetto for cello and double bass in D major, and Dvorak String Quintet in G major op 77. This stunning rendition performed with the incomparable Leon Bosch and Peter Hewitt will be a tour de force of virtuosity and musical brilliance.
