1. Do you have a property to sell?
If yes then quite simply, you need to be on the market. We always recommend things are done this way around because if you were to find your dream house, view it and love it. Your offer is going to be taken much more seriously if you have a buyer or your house is on the market. This gives you the best chance of securing the property and less chance of missing out on it because of delays caused by getting your house on the market, finding a buyer etc. Most importantly it avoids disappointment.
